After a solid mud-slinging session, seems like my 3.5 V6 has developed what sounds like a bit of rod knock. Well, that's what it sounds like to me. I guess I'll get a professional ear to it, see what they think. A main bearing perhaps? Or could it be in the top of the engine? Doesn't sound like lifters.
Anyhow, what's the best course of action?
I figure I should drop the oil pan and see what's in there. Assuming a bearing has gone, then presume it's best to pull the engine out and put a 2nd one in? No one bothers repairing this sort of thing right?

Fix the devil you know was going to be my theory. What are the chances of getting a good low KM 3.5 DOHC second hand these days?

True...
I suppose I should find out what's really wrong with it first.
