Who uses their fog lights?

After the spate of stupid weather in Sydney of late I am wondering whether fog lights would be beneficial. My headlights are OK as I've upgraded the wiring and installed brighter bulbs however the road just in front of me is still quite dark. The reflectors/street signs & car in-front of me are illuminated OK it's just the actual road surface.

Given with the rain I consider it "adverse" weather would fog lights be of benefit?

I would like to be able to run my foggies for that extra little bit of light, but it'd be just my luck to be pulled over and booked for it, which would then give the POPO an excuse to go over my car and find other little "things"...

Im considering some bright DRL's but I doubt they'd show enough light.

ive had fog lights on my last falcon, they only really light up right in front of the vehicle for slow driving in very bad conditions. in rain etc it will make no difference.

P.S I never used them much and when i did, i forgot i had used them and got pulled over by the popo the next day fro driving with my fog lights on
