3/4 heim joints. What size links?

Post by Turbo Tonka »

gday all have recently purchased my heim joints from lowrange offroad and will soon be looking to start setting up my suspension. I have the weld in bungs so could go a seemless tube(if anyone in town wants to get it :bad-words: ) or what are peoples thoughts??

it is to be on a light weight sierra based build, minimal body and relatively simple.Should be fairly light, under powerd and for now on 35s until i get 37s.would a decent 1/4" wall seemless handle it you think or try go solid which is probably $$$$$$.

thanks, new to this style of build

I'd probably find a heavier wall thickness pipe/tube to use. Normally it's considered stronger than solid bar.

thanks, with the lowrabge joints on the site they suggest a 1/4" wall seemless. if it will most likely hold up im happy enough to run it. just didnt know if theres something more popular or cheaper thats as good/better

How long are they? The longer they are the more prone to bending, so will need to be mo' butch or be reinforced.

see my reply in this thread for the material to use

when i made links using 3/4 heims i welded the nut to the hollow bar then linished it and sleeved over the top with 40nb and overlapped the nut and welded to the end of it...

thanks mate.you meantion 40/25 hollow bar.well the inch to inch and a half is just under a mm thinner in its wall

7.5 vs 6.35??? my thing if completed will be very light and underweight. i will talk to my old boss see if i can get a price on both though. It at this point will not be a comp rig, expecially serious comp more just a project for me and social wheeler with a few options to go bigger.
I also only want to build it once lol
