H260 or H233

Post by LewisGQ »

Hi I have bought a pair of GU diffs for my GQ the only problem was the rear was a H260 as I all ready have a 4.6 rear centre with air locker in it which is a H233 . What do I do sell my centre and build a new one for the H260 or sell the H260 and run wheel spacers on the GQ diff is there that much extra strength with the H260 over the H233 I no I will lose 1 inch of clearance and gain some wait so whats the best way to go Thanks.

The pinion is the same size in both.

The h260 is a land anchor as the housing is HUGE unless you shave the bottom of it(see wicked's build thread)

The gu is only 40mm wider than the gq in the rear and the brakes are the same so in most cases its not really worth the effort.
The front cvs in the GU are far stronger and the brakes are better.
I would just run the GU front and leave the GQ rear
GU 42td wagon for touring
GU ute for the fun stuff
