2011 battle of the states rover park 11-13 june

Post by oozuk »

So who is going to the battle of the states ?

I'm thinking about it but i am struggling to find vehicle requirements as to if we need window nets, helmets, kill switches ect ect

below are the links to what i have found so far

http://www.roverpark.com.au/images/stor ... -flyer.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

http://www.roverpark.com.au/images/stor ... y-form.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

it has a basic outline of the classes but that's all, so is this event pretty relaxed still these days ? it's been close to 8 years since I've competed at a battle of the states so I'm sure a lot has changed.

If you read the flyer that you had a link to, you would have seen the answer very clearly :) :) :)

i know the flyer says standard and lightly moded 4wds, and the entry form says no tyres bigger than 35s. but ive been down to watch for the last couple of years and there has been cars on 37s n 38s.

Is this the case that they do let cars run with bigger tyres?

Best to make a quick phone call to Rover (02) 6737 6862 to check.
I understand this is the first year the tyre size is being limited as last year the some parts got a bit ripped up with some silly stuff on big rubber with the loud pedal.
It's aimed more at a family friendly & fun comp not really hard core "playing for sheep station" kind of thing.

CLASSES ARE AS FOLLOWS:
Standard: engine classes, Tyre size no greater than 31 inch, No lockers.
Lightly modified: engine classes, Tyre size no greater than 33 inch, lift no higher than 2 inch springs and 2 inch body, locked & unlocked.
Open class: No engine criteria, Tyre size no greater than 35 inch, lift no higher than 5 inches, locked & unlocked.
Seatbelts must be worn & if no window nets/wrist straps window must be up during competition.
Usual safety stuff.

Will be back again this year and will be the first big test since the V8 conversion. If you see a SASed V8 Surf running 35's come and say G'day, see ya there :armsup:

I saw that information on the flyer , I was also interested in the safety requirements, I called them
Window nets are not needed
Softtops need to wear a helmet but if fiberglass top no helmet is needed
It seems like pretty relaxed requirements.

I'll be there, as soon as I can secure a car trailer I'll nominate

that not what they said when we called two weeks ago.
makes it a bit hard enter events when they keep changing the rules.

I've heard they canceled the night drags due to the cold weather!! bit of a bummer really, as the cold weather will just make the cars go better :armsup:
