feroza belt pulley

Post by ezzamate »

ok so i was just wondering if anyone has an exploded view of the drive belt with part numbers etc? i have a Feroza 2 '94 f300

today on the way home from work i heard this bad rattling sound, open the bonnet and theres this pulley wheel that the bearings have just been ripped right out of. lucky for me it didnt fall off on the road..

the wheel just came off in my hand, but interestingly, there was still tension enough to turn the fan and all the rest... i guess my question is, anyone know what the part number of this wheel would be?
can i safely drive it without the pulley wheel for a little while?

First, a couple of questions:

Do you have aircon/power steering?

Is you power steering still working?

Is it one of the pulleys that drive either of those?

If it is, then yes it should be OK to drive, but if its on the drive belt that goes down to your alternator and the pulley on the bottom front of the motor, then NO it isn't safe to drive.

Maybe a pic or drawing of the offending pulley would help.

thanks aj,
i got a mate who's a mechanic to have a look at it, and its just an idler he reckons, yeah i do have power steering and aircon and its part of that belt but both still work fine and theres heaps of tension still, it does nothing really, he's gonna get me some new bearings for it and she'll be sweet.
