HDJ78 troopy engine advice

Post by revhead307 »

G'day,

I'm looking at upgrading from an ageing Import Nissan Safari to a HDJ78 with IHDT-FTE.

However ive discovered that they are only rated at 122kw where the the HDJ100 with the same engine is rated at 151kw.

Can anyone tell me what is required to get the power level anywhere near the 100 series version?

I wanted a 100 series to start with but hate IFS and dont want to turbo a 1HZ, as they dont make anywhere near the reliable power of a IHDT-FTE.

Thanks
Jeff

Get an aftermarket chip and exhaust. People seem to love the Beaudesert systems.

the 100 is intercooled so probably runs more boost?
I'm not quitting drinking, I'm retiring at the top of my game - sporting comeback likely.

the 100 series runs much higher boost stock and has a different computer , injector pump and turbo
the boost cut in the 7x series motor is around the normal boost level of the 100 series one
its not just a matter of upping the boost and fitting an intercooler as the computer will shut it all down around 15 psi
100 series computer is good to much higher levels
