Light Issues

Post by Nicos »

Hello All I am having some dramas with my hunting vehicle. It’s a 1983 Toyota Hilux Dual Cab LN46. I noticed one of my parkers was out so I changed out the lamp and then went to turn back on my lights, parkers come on but I have no low beam? If you flick to Hi bean (suspected Hi beam) they work but the Indicator light on the dash doesn’t come up and also there is nothing going to the coil of my relay for the after market spotlights. I have checked fuses and relays and have disconnected all the extra spotlights but still no Luck. Any ideas of what could be going on. I have followed the schematic and there is neutral at the top of the lights. Just a little lost on how I have hi beam but no hi beam indicator and no low beam. Thanks

From memory, some Toyotas have a light circuit that relies on a low beam filament to earth the dash indicator when high beam is on. Have you pulled the globes and checked that both filaments are intact?

All bulbs are sealed, some light units are just a large bulb.

Put a meter across the terminals.
