product for wheel arch and trans tunnel sound dead'n?

Got the truck in bits and want to quiet it down a bit for those long days touring. Need a product (perferrably sold online) to paint onto underside trans tunnel, and wheel arches. Will need to be durable for stone chips, but more importantly work to reduce noise.

Done a search, but haven't found anywhere that sells online?

Looking for an online supplier if possible as getting to the shops is a pain... Love to hear any downsides to your application, as its pretty much win win from where I look at it.

Standard brands of K&H and 3M, Septone etc - I just need a supplier...

if you want it purely for sound deadening, you will probably get better results fitting a sheet material to the inside of the body ie under carpet.
that way you can use something thicker, dont have to worry about adhesion, dont have to worry about water getting trapped under it and causing rust

I put thermal insulation under my carpet in place of the original underlay in my 80. it kept a lot of radiant heat from exhaust and engine out of the cab and also absorbed a huge amount of road noise and engine transmission noise etc.

I used 10mm closed cell foam with a foil backing on it. it was cheap, easy to use and worked well

Similar to 80's post above. When a mate re-trimmed by old 4runner for me he put a thick underlay under the new carpet. This was the only change made to the truck and the noise reduction was massive!

simply painting the floor with that stuff won't do much.

if you look at the insides of a modern vehicle gutted you will see they only add sound deadening materials to certain areas of the bodywork and usually in certain shapes and patterns. they are able to "tune" the vibration out of the metal panels. they also have alot more money than you.

so without alot of expensive equipment you're probably better off doing what twisty suggests.

hang on, just to get back on topic, I'm chasing a product to do the wheel arches (underside) and the trans tunnel (underside) whilst the engine is out and the car is apart... No painting floors, nothing like that. I;ve got dynamat for the inside floor and panels, just chasing the extra 1% whilst everything is apart... Make it a bit cleaner and neater, and add another layer of metal protection (planning on 4 or so coats to make it nice and thick)

I used K&H body deadner which goes on thick with a schutz gun. Seems ok but it's hard to tell if it makes a big difference in noise with 35" muddies and no carpet.
I also wanted to seal the floor pan. Next time i would paint the floor etc first then the body deadner.
There's a paint called stone sheild, but cannot remember who makes it.

I bought 4litres of underbody sound deadner today, Im going to use it on the inside though. Its brush on stuff, so I can put a nice thick coat of it down.
Cost me $42 from Autobarn.
