Coil Tower & shocky mount mods

Post by zas »

Hey everyone,

just a quick question regarding Coil tower & shocky mount Mods.

i have seen bolt on kits for other Vehicles which lowers the mounting point of both the coil and the shocky to effectivly lifting the vehicle.

has anyone done this to a GQ patrol and if so is it possible to get this engineered in QLD?

yes i know it would probs be cheaper and easier to just put bigger lift in the car but its just a question!

Sounds pretty stupid to me, more lift but no flex gained  thats handy as a kick in the teeth. ive got 4 inch in my gq and run 38s and would still like to be lower. If you wish to do a use less lift just put 6 inch body lift in :finger:

you're not from newy are you? :D

you asked a question and got an answer.

It's just something you wouldnt do, it's completely pointless in my opinion.

are you talking about the IFS strut spacers for new hilux's and the like?

you can pretty much get anything engineered as long as you consult with the engineer before any work..

If you lower the upper mounts on the front shock tower you have to lower your bump stops the same so for a 4" lift you would have to lower your bump stops 4 inches.
Most people are tyring to raise their shock towers because a 4 inches longer shock is 2 inches longer on compression so you have to lower you bump stops about 2 inches.
This is a rough guide not exact measurements. Every shock is different.
