Hilux headlight upgrade

Post by Frankenyota »

Looking to upgrade from the standard sealed beam candles.
Was going to upgrade the wiring harness for the headlights first.
Then either fit some narva semi sealed H4 lights or try some crystal headlights.

Link for crystal headlights- http://www.carsrus.com.au/hilux-hiace-r ... ights.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Just wondering which is the best way to go :?

Most of the crystal lights ive seen have been cheap and nasty. Are they even ADR approved?

Go for a high quality conventional insert. Don't skimp on the globes, either!

I have just done this upgrade. Cost 180 from auto one. New casing and h4 globes. Didn't change any wiring took about 45 mins and they make the old ones look like crap.

A 2dollar torch from the Reject Shop would make the stock Lux headlights look like crap.

Let me know what you do to improve them mate.

How bout this:

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Hilux-Celica ... 5adafa313b" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

plus this

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/TOYOTA-HILUX ... 990wt_1296" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

So for about 70 dollars you have both sides done short of upgraded loom. Halogen would be even cheaper.

My headlights were $55 each and I payed $32 for arctic blue globes and that included blue park globes. Will get a photo when i get the car going. Or at lease plug battery in. The lights look the same as the crystal 1s in the photo. Bought them from a local parts supplier. My mates HID kit cost him $150 and that's bright as but don't think it's legal but never had any issues

No I haven't but an upgrade is on the cards and will probably go with something along those lines. I'd probably go ebay over cars r us just for ease of transaction but they do look pretty much the same. If you get them post up your results.
