ROPS WTC Round 3 Mackay: This weekend!!! 6 & 7 Aug

Post by Mosko111 »

Im guessing the organisers are busy with work and Brads getting ready for Cliffhanger.
So thought i'd throw this up to let everyone know that Nominations are now ope, for the ROPS WTC Round 3 which is being held just outside Mackay at the Holditflatz property on the weekend of 6th and 7th of August!!

This is off the ROPS WTC Facebook page:

"Just a reminder to send an email to totaloffroad@bigpond.com to get a copy of all the forms you need to nominate for Round 3. The web site should be sorted soon we hope, but until it is, this will ensure everyone gets the right forms."

This is a great property for competing with awesome tight creeks with great short sharp winch walls and a few great tracks around the fence lines for high speed runs! :D Anyone who hasnt competed at a WTC event yet, Round 3 would be an awesome places to come along and race for the first time!
This round is also a really family friendly weekend. The camping area being nice and close to the action with the main creek being a short (100mtr) walk from camp with lush green grass and shaded shelter areas along the top of the creek to sit back and take in the action!!

Brent headed off a track clearing weekend this weekend!
So hopefully we will get a bit of an idea of where on the property the carnage will be happening!

And by the end of the week I'll get in touch with the organisers and start a competitors list nice and early, hopefully it's already getting nicely filled :D

I was up there this weekend, and all the tracks are cleared. It all looks good and some different tracks. We found a cool track which is a dry rocky creek bed, I spent the morning clearing with Jason, I wanted Brent to run it as a stage but he said no because the winch boys don't like rocks.

One of the trickier sections on the creek run

At the top of track looking back down, its hard to see all the rocks but it is awesome.

I didn't get any pics of the actual tracks for the comp, I was too excited about my rock track :D

Nah I didn't and I don't think anyone else did either, that track I cleared this morning is up the hill from the shed and down over near the boundary.

Come on guys, time to decide if you are in or out. A late nom fee may be inforced after July 22nd, so get your noms in.

Hi Dee Hoe

Guys, if we don't get a minimum of 12 teams paid and nomiated by the 22nd, we may have to revaluate weather we run the event as we need to give the radio etc 2 weeks notice to cancel.

Good to see the numbers starting to roll in! And with a few more still to come it should be a good field!

With that creek that we will be venturing further up, it starts to get pretty Nasty up there doesn't it? :D If we are going up higher then the man made track you guys put in up there, then things definately will be getting interesting!

will there also be a new track in that other creek over near the pig/dog crate? It looks like it could be fun aswell!

Nah mate, just curious!! And definately not scared like those kids in the little white shorty! I hear that they have been consumed with so much fear that they can't even nominate because their hands are shaking to much when they try and fill out the nom forms!!! :finger:
