60 series - 79 series front end conversion?

Post by twinky »

hey all, was just wondering if anyone had seen a 60 series with a 79 series front end conversion. the two vehicles are similar in size and shape but obviously with almost 30 years between them. i cant see it being that difficult, just a bit of fab and bodywork. i have an example here....

Looks like the ugly inbred child of two perfectly good trucks. I'd rather waste my money elsewhere. Each to their own though.

lol fair enough, i like it... i rekon itd look quite good with a few other mods like adding the wheel arches off the 79, painting the rear pillars black so the glass looks like it wraps around... i just rekon itd be relatively easy as the two trucks are very similar in shape, they even have the same lines at the front on the guards...... i like the idea! :P

If you like the look of it and you've got the coin, go for it.

to me it looks strikingly similar to a 76 series..... unless your a panel beater or by dumb luck it all fits up perfect then your in for an abortion of a truck or a divorce when the better half sees how much it has cost.

but, its your money and time, not mine, good luck
turbos are nice but i'd rather be blown

i like it
i thought the same thing when i saw the new 4 door wagons. similar lines and shape/size.

i thought about possibly bulging the guards along the front body line instead of getting fibreglass flares for the 60, alot of work but i'm only dreaming.

give it 5 yrs and an ex ergon energy vehicle with factory lockers might be within reach lol.
