Where to buy Diff gears?

Post by drr »

I'm after a standard 4.3 ratio for the front of my FZJ105. Anyone know where I could find something cheap, best I could find was $850.

Also why do Locktup show the 80 and 100 series gears separately? I thought the ring and pinion are the same, just the side gears are different for the bigger axles.

R&P are the same as you say. Lowrange, trail gear, Marlin, Locktup and Superior all don't seem to stock 4.3's. Snake have them for $650. I'd try and call Locktup as I'm pretty sure Nitro started making 4.3's a couple of months ago.

Already rang and was told nitro don't do a 4.3. 4.1 and 4.56 only.

Same thing on that site, no 4.3 ratios.

Thanks guys looks like I may have to buy them from Snake Racing then. If it wasn't for the fitting kits it would nearly be cheaper just to swap to a 4.56 front and rear using the nitro gears.

Nitro don't do a 8" reverse cut in a 4.3:1 The have only just released the 8" 4.3:1 in the low pinion. For some reason the toyota trucks didn't come out with 4.3:1 so no one did them. There are plenty on jap after market one out there though. Should be able to get them for around the $400 mark if you look around.

Maybe look at "Motive" gears I think they are called.

4.3 ratio was standard from toyota in a few vehicles over the years

3RZ-FE 4WD hilux's had 4.3 ratio
3L diesel 4WD hilux's had 4.3 ratio

Buddy, I was referring to the USA market. I know the LN106 and some surfs had 4.3:1 here in AUS, though the surfs are an import.
