But it turned out really nice. As does everything made by Chester.

I made mine out of steel weld bends, all about 1.5" ID, worked really well - you do have to weld them perfectly and linish them back though

cheers bru

Personally i like to have the rope run over a large a radius in the fairlead as possible. I make them from mandrel bent 25NB 304 stainless which has an OD of around 33mm if i remember correctly. I have seen many made from oxy bent 12 or 16mm stainless rod. looks great but when winching heavily from one side it will decrease the breaking strength of the rope too much for my liking. Just my 2c

hey Mick

i thought i'd replied to all of my pm's, sorry i missed you.

I did a run of standard width fairleads out of HDPE and to be honest even though they are a great product, they haven't sold very well. Everyone who has bourght one loves them. I just wanted to make sure i got rid of my current stock before investing my hard earned on doing a run of wider ones.

i may still do them (have to find a machining place in Melbourne now to actually cut them) but with everything i have going on right now, they are the least of my priorities.

once again, sorry for the crappy communication.

cheers Chris
