PTO MQ PATROL

Post by Shark »

There was a PTO advertised in the local paper over here for $350. Is that a reasonable price??
Are they hard to install??

Any help would be great.

I was found a unit in a spares place and they wanted $550 for it. Be careful as to which box it is to adapt with, as the 4spd and 5spd use diffrent length shafts.

Eventually i didn't go PTO anyway on the MQ as the oil breather defeated the purpose of the idea. I.e. the fact that anything i would be needing to winch up would already be causing a loss of oil from this line due to the angle, having my car more on this slope whilst the engine still running... sounds like disaster to me!

I know this one is for a 4spd so no problems there. Whats with the oil breather???

I really need something to get me out of the shite on a beach or something like that.

It depends what is included? Is it just the pto drive that goes on the back of the t/c? pretty sure they aren't available new anymore. Ive got the same set up on my mq tray, it runs to a powauto t8 winch, parts are available for the winch itself through david brown powauto hydraulics outlets.
As far as installation goes you will either need to modify a standard bar or get an arb commercial bar to fit the winch, the drive shaft is pretty simple it runs up the passenger side of the box through the hole in the front of the chassis.
There are no stupid questions, but there are a LOT of inquisitive idiots
