swivel houseing

Just wondering what people are useing in there swivel houseing oil or grease what is better ive got a 1988 range rover and they are prone to leaking from the swivel houseing even with new seals im runnning moreys oil at the moment but am thinking of makeing the change to grease thanks for any info regarding this topic

i run a mix of oil and grease, so the consistency is between the two.
1986 - Stage 1 V8 serIII style side ute - gone
1997 - 300 TDI 130 single cab ute - gone
1986 - 90 defender soft top, bars, buttons and tyres
2000 - TD5 disco 'the boss's rig'

Leaking from new seals is often a sign that swivel bearings are worn.

I am in the middle of rebuilding mine.. Quick question, i believe once its all together you should need about 12kg pressure to move the swivel housing back and forth. is this correct.. Also with the new swivel hub bearings i need shims to take up the gap. I have been told to only put these in the top only and NOT top and bottom evenly. is this correct, thanks.
