I think there was pwr steering on some of the LN65s, but probably rare to find for sale though.
If you want power steering, then you have 2 options...
Convert to cross-over steering.
Or.
Convert to Hi-steer.
Both are very similar, you need to buy the steering setup off an IFS 4runner or Hilux, then either a crossver steering kit, or a histeer kit.
Its not the cheapest way to go, but it is a very worthwhile modification.
Basically, it changes the standard steering setup, which is..
Steering box, to pitman arm, which moves forwards and backwards.
Pitman arm, which has the draglink bolted to it.
Draglink, which runs to the J-arm.
J-arm is mounted to the drivers side steering knuckle.
D.S. steering knuckle joins the tie-rod.
Tie-rod runs across to the passenger side steering knuckle
Running cross-over or hi-steer will go something like this..
IFS steering box, to pitman arm, which moves left and right.
Pitman arm, which has the draglink bolted to it.
Draglink, which runs across to the passenger side steering knuckle.
The tie-rod runs from the P.S. steering knuckle across to the drivers side steering knuckle.
With cross-over steering, the tie-rod runs in front of the front diff/axle(much like the standard setup).
With hi-steer, the tie-rod runs up above the leaf springs, so its well out of harms way.
There is heaps of info on here about both setups, so do a search.

Oh I desperately truly love the taco.
Won't the power steering pump redefine lines etc have to come from a vehicle with a l series motor and then use the odd box from the 4 runner for the high steer
Yes same block so in that case the whole system from any Ifs truck running either 2l 3l or 5l should have it covered don't think systems from a petrol model will fit up though
If you just want power steer without the hassle of going crossover, you could get the setup from any live axle diesel hilux and bolt it on.
I've got the complete setup from an IFS LN65 equivalent 4runner or something which had IFS. I think it was a Jap spec thing we got the 2LT and P/S for another LN65 but obviously the P/S didnt fit the live axle (and going crossover/high steer would have cost more than the POS was worth)
The old Luxy was fun, but with a young family comes great responsibility.
So I swapped it for a 60. Should be able to take the whole mob camping, plus I got an extra gear, 2 less cylinders and A/C.
He never said it was an IFS or solid axle. I think the IFS was on the later years of that model in the 4 runner around 87. I'm sure 85 model was a solid front setup. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Pretty sure the only IFS 65s are the Japanese Surfs.
All the Aussie 4Runners and Hiluxes I've ever seen have been leaf sprung.
The only IFS 65 series surf I've seen was the 2L-T powered one we got the engine from.
