what rear springs for a hilux

Post by mumbles »

ok america loves the 63 chev springs, but this aint america and they arent a dime a dozen, what equivalent do we have here in oz? have only 2 wreckers here where i live and have been thru them both what i have found so far is
mq approx 57 inch set at 24/33
75series 57 inch set at 24/33
these were very ruff/ quick measurements is there any other vehicles out there with a more central pin spacing? with similar length

I have heard of people using Falcon rear springs, and some other springs, cant remember what though(maybe Mazda).
The most commonly used is any IFS Lux rear springs, as they are about 4inches longer than the solid axle.

There is a heap of info in the Lux bible, which is at the top of the Yota tech section page.

yes falcon springs where similar length to others, just 2 and 3/4 inch wide where as mq and 75 where 2.5 and standard hilux 60mm. i have seen the ifs ones 3 inches longer then standard doesnt justify moving hangers to fit i also saw mazda springs mentioned but they dont say what model.
