Hi guys,
Just after a bit of advice here, looking at a 1990 60 Series. It has the petrol motor and has 406000 km on it. Body looks good other than a dent in the rear driver side door. Could not see any signs of rust around the gutters etc. It has a alloy bullbar, looks like 15x8 sunnys with 31x10.5 at's and looks like it has a long range fuel tank as the spare is sitting in the back, and roof racks (but only the cheap looking chrome ones). Have not driven it yet, but am certainly interested in it. The asking price is $4000, does that seem a fair price for one?
Any advice would be very helpful on what other problems to look for.

Hey mate,
The 60 is a great 4by, the petrol model does chew through the fuel but. And look for rust in the roof gutters, and inside the doors near the hinge, and also at the bottom of the guards

That's about as much as you want to pay for a petrol if it's in great (recoed driveline at least) condition all over.... the motor at those ks if it's original, is getting to the end of its life.... all running gear, if original, will also be showing signs of wear, even if not apparent.... so all in all, if it's original, it will be tired... GOOD 60 bodies are getting harder to get. If your buying it for the body/chassis it's too expensive, maybe 2/2.5k tops......

Thanks for the replies guys, body from initial checks appears to be rust free. Not sure yet on the drivetrain condition, will make some inquiries tomorrow.

Seems like a fair price but not a bargain, to give you an idea I paid pretty much the same for my diesel 60, with 350xxx k's, turbo (aftermarket), front/rear bars, cargo barrier, spare wheel carrier and 3/4 steel rack. Granted mine's an 84 model and it had crap paint, but very little rust and mechanically perfect.
Petrol 60's seem to go fairly cheap but all the ones I've looked at where older models around mid 80s.

I think you could do better. I paid 4000 for mine and it has a 12ht with front and rear arb lockers. But had 440 on the clock and some rust and no 5th. But the motor is so great that i dont care. I would steer clear of the petrol motor. Ebay is the place to get a cheap 60 you just have to be patient and check them out first.
