I have a rebuilt 2H engine and a split transfer case that I would like to put into my FJ40. My question is that the rear engine supports on the FJ40 are on the bell housing. Whereas the 2H rear engine support is on the underside of the gearbox. Does anyone know if the 3 piece brackets from any other model of Landcruiser will fit the FJ40, as I am having a lot of problem sourcing one from a HJ47.
I don't mind if I have to slightly shorten or redrill holes etc one from a 60 series for example, as long as its been done before and worked for someone else.

make one up uaing angle and 5mm flat bar, improvise.
i have a hj47, and the said mount is an absolute madda bucker when tring to get to the tail shaft bolts, as i just got my slip joint renewed, SLOT THE holes and use a thick wide washer.
only my 2cents worth but save a few and be a millionare.

I put a 2H in my son's 45. I believe it's the same configuration as an fj 40. I got the rear engine mount and brackets from a 47 and mounted them to the chassis. It was a bit of mucking around but a good job in the end. Took one day. PM me if you want for a phone no.
I'd rather be biologically honest, than politically correct.
Re: 2H Diesel into a FJ40
Been searching for a while for this rear mount. Seems that HJ47 parts are starting to get hard to come by.
I was wondering if perhaps I can use this bracket from a 60 series. I think the 60 series chassis rail is wider so I don't mind modifying as long as its cutting shorter and re-drilling the holes.
Has anyone done this before?

This is probably a silly question, but you aren't talking about the cross member mount under the gearbox are you? If so I have a spare

Hi Loosecanon. I think it could be called a crossmember. Anyhow managed to buy one from 4wd wreckers in Marigold st, Revesby. Cost $140, what a rip off. Will fit next weekend.

Post up pics if you can, I would be interested to see it. I haven't played with the 2H before,
