If I put a 4" lift in my 2.8 Gq patrol do I have to replace the standard panhard rod with a adjustable one?

Short answer....... NO.
Long answer. It depends on if you change your bump stop height and how much adjustment you want if any. The factory panhard is set so your diff hits the bump stops with the right alignment. So putting a 4" lift on will make the diffs sit a couple of millimeters off to one side of the car but it won't make your car drive drive any different. Well you won't notice a difference when compared to the difference a 4" lift will make. Most people use an adjustable panhard just because it is stronger but is not needed just to put a larger suspension lift on the car. It is really only needed if you regularly work the suspension through its full range of movement or you need something stronger than the factory item.

Ok thanks mate been a huge help I just converted from being a cruiser man to patrol so havnt had much to do with the coil suspension set up cheers mate

You can get away without putting them on but it is advisable to use 3 degree castor correction in whichever form it may be. Castor plates are not your best option but are probably the cheapest. If you are going to use this for any sort of articulation off road then don't use offset bushes. They will split very quickly. Drop boxes, or if your budget can stretch a little then drop arms are by far the best option.
Don't forget to put extended brake lines on as well as adjusting the rear brake bias bracket to match the lift. Also check that your breather lines are long enough.
