Gu Seat Brackets to allow seat further back?

Post by Bingham »

Ok being 6'6 i have finally cracked it as driving the patrol hurts my knees doing the kms i do.

Questions
Is a bracket commercially available like i am told there is for some rovers etc?
If so who and where do is sign up?
Failing this who would be a good engineering mob worth contacting about one for me and i suspect there would be a bit of a market for one. I might email superior guys in coming days.

Ideally not lifting the seat height wise or minimal if was no way round it...

Thanks in advance.

I have just emailed superior asking if they do one? and if not if they no someone that does? or failing that would it be something they would look at. Think i would know a several people across a range of nissans and toyotas that would look at similar. See what they think otherwise may have to get one custom made.

Maybe worth their while making one up or may not be. See how we go.

Mate if you are desperate - drop around to work and I'll have a look and you can get some steel and we can fab something,
Rather not do it on the weekend if we can avoid it.

cheers bru

I've got the same problem in my 03 TI and i'm only 6ft 1'.

I reckon it's the electric seats.

I've also got a 00 gu DX ute and i've got heaps of leg room in it.

Maybe it's worth trying a drivers seat from a ute?

Keep us posted as to what you come up with as i'll eventually wanna do something with my wagon.
