Diesel gas motor stops free bottle of rum for who help fixit
Running diesel gas on my piece of crap 2l. It seems to foul my injectors or something if I idle on a hill too long but a good bit of revving on just diesel seems to clear it. Any ideas on what's actually happening.

you shouldnt be getting gas at idle usually the gas only kicks in wot or under boost on a turbo.if its gasing at idle you may hav a faulty switch.

Okay now my problem has become a bit bigger. Was running the gas at full noise this week end and then all of a sudden I had nothing. Let the car sit for 5 and it started fine ?

Do you have an EGT???
It sounds like your fuelling is too high. This will cause high EGTs and or pre-ignition - either way parts of your engine will probably end up fubar before too long.

i have been struggling to find a fault with my diesel gas set up.
when running it and holding it flat for a bit , so mainly on hills it will just stop all of a sudden or run really rough for a bit. according to a place that fits it , it dose not sound like a problem with my gas but the wiring both my power supplies come from my alternator regulator. any ideas on how this could be shutting down my fuel? and it only happens with the gas switched on. Also my second alternator uses this same power supply

so the motor stops or the gas stops?
if its just the gas id be saying its freezing in the convertor?
if its the whole motor, well i dont know. if it is electrical gremlin may be closing the lockout on the fuel supply, but in my experience these wont stop the flow if the throttles open...
is it electrically controlled in any way?

Yeah the motor stops so I was thinking it was something to do with the gas solenoids sterling power from the fuel lock out on the pump

where are you taking power from to power the gas lock outs?
mine are set up of a seperate tach-relay
i once started my ute with the throttle jammed open, turned it back off cause obviously it sat on the governor which is rather higher than what it should be and i memory blanked about jamming the throttle open, and it kept running.
i wouldnt be surprised if yours is similar, maybe try? at least it will tell you yes or no...
its not something as simple as when your running it that hard, drawing enough fuel to create vac in the tank, maybe breather blocked etc?

maybe try getting power to your cut off solenoids from your battery.
You may be getting a voltage drop direct from your alternator that is enough to close the fuel cut offs momentarily. Just a thought.

okay ive changed my set up so it only comes on a full throttle and it happend again today at full throttle but i took more notice. when i tried to start the car straight away it had stuff all compression and wound over fast but waited a minute and it was fine. any ideas?

Mate the theory that I'm running on is its actually spiking the egt's and getting hot enough to jam the valves till it cools so which I'm assuming is cause it's leaning out the diesel so I'm thinking you could be right with one of these pumps helping.

leaning out the diesel will make it knock like a bastard with the gas running usually

If you were jamming valves, wouldnt you have pistons hitting them?
check fuel filters first, and tank breathers, but i reckon its just the standard puller pump cant get enough fuel up for the increased demand, explains why it does it on hills etc, mine used to flat spot up hill until i put the pusher pump in.

As far as I know a 2l is a non interference motor and today I just put all new filters and a lifter pump in today. So will have to wait and see now.

mmm hopefully thats enough, i know on the GQ's they say some of the smaller pumps actually become restrictive, depends how much fuel your pump demands and sends back down the return.

Id be checking convertor ice up for sure. After it stops feel the convertor, it should be hot. If its icing up it dosnt vaporise the gas and dumps raw liquid down its guts and floods f##k out of it.
