BJ42 EDIC Fuel Control Relay
Well I've tested my system after it wouldnt shut down properly, and have found that the Fuel Control Relay is rooted.
After trying all day to source one from Brisbane wreckers, of which none who got back to me had any idea, I've got no idea where to get one.
Is anyone wrecking a BJ42 or a HJ45 or does anyone on here fix these at all?
Cheers in advance

Re: BJ42 EDIC Fuel Control Relay
I have a feeling you can use a relay from a 60? Can anyone back this up?

Re: BJ42 EDIC Fuel Control Relay
ring a wreckers and ask if they have any hj60's in the yard. if they do ask if you can go and check them out for a particular relay. I doubt any of them will actually keep them aside, but if they have a wrecked 60 you might get lucky and still find one on the vehicle.
I am not sure if they are in the same place as in a 40 though but wouldn't hurt to check the engine bay and under the dash.
unfortunately I reckon you'll need to do a bit of footwork to find one these days..

Re: BJ42 EDIC Fuel Control Relay
low oil pressure cut-off hooks into the edic too... so if you don't have sufficient oil pressure it'll put the edic into the stop position (good place for a kill switch! )
Re: BJ42 EDIC Fuel Control Relay
The Hj 47 and BJ 42 use exactly the same FCR, same part number. The HJ 60 and 75 just mounts differently, but functions the same. HJ 45 and BJ 40 use a different relay and it won't fit on the 3B/2H system.

Re: BJ42 EDIC Fuel Control Relay
Its taken me two years to find the cause of my hj60 edic relay problem and you wouldn't believe what it turned out to be.
Symptoms started out like yours turbo60 not shutoff then it would over-fuel while highway traveling, then not over-fuel to start, this went on for couple of months then it settled into a pattern of cutting out momentarily when i had the lights on or other accessories. I checked every earth ,took the edic motor apart and the relay apart ripped out haymen reese towing aid and all other accessories the PO had installed still no joy I got used to being able to hear the relay click then remove my foot of the accelerator carried on like that for most of the last 18 months couldn't source another edic relay.
Then couple weeks ago the brake light on the dash started illuminating so i filled the brake fluid reservoir WOOO- HHAA my problem disappeared that night 4 weeks ago elated and pissed off all at the same time.
So there you go anyone with edic issues check your brake fluid level first crazy i know
