79s landcruiser coil conversion questions
hi all
i own a 2002 model hzj79s landcruiser
i am looking into doing a 3" rear coil conversion and putting the 105s rear end in it.
I understand what is involed in the conversion, but im not sure about it getting engineered. has any one done this or know what is involed in getting it engineered?
thanks all

Hey guys
how much would this conversion cost? And are the wheel tracks different? With the 100 series diff?

Re: 79s landcruiser coil conversion questions
I'm pretty sure he had to run spacers (not sure if it was for front or rear diff) and pricing is also a mystery, best bet would be to chase up his phone number and see how much he charges these days!
Re: 79s landcruiser coil conversion questions

Re: 79s landcruiser coil conversion questions
they dont do the engineering themselves.
right now engineering in NSW is all up in the air as to who will be allowed to engineer as they have all been deregistered.
have you had much experience with welding and setting up suspension.
it takes alot of precision measuring to get it to drive good.

suspension no.. but you got to start somewhere
Re: 79s landcruiser coil conversion questions
im assuming its mig welding. any qualifications.
coz you have to prove to the engineer that the welds are strong enough by means of testing them. it'd really suck to weld it all up and the welding not be up to spec for the engineer.
Ive been through this before where i had to provide various samples of welding as well as get the auctuall car xrayed etc before it got signed off. got quite expensive.
With the current state of engineering in NSW a lot of them aren't taking any risks on work let alone actually signing anything off atm.
