October 15th Suspension Stuff Challenge Scenic rim Adventure Park

Registrations are open for round five of the 2011 Suspension Stuff Challenge
This is a low key fun one day event open to all 4x4’s from beginners to the more experienced

Full class classifications and online registrations can be found on our website http://www.scenicrimadventurepark.com.au" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

SRAP chose their competition dates and posted them at the beginning of the year taking into account other venue posted and 4x4 competitions annual dates.
As the 4x4 scene expands it is almost impossible to prevent date clashes for the number of events now available for the 4x4 driving community.
To assist organisers of events it always helps if interested parties register or log there interest soon as possible
Enjoy your 4x4 experiences

This Round of the Suspension Stuff Challenge will be run by some of the members from Tough Tracks 4x4 Club as Scenic Rims usual officials are unavailable and we have volunteered to help out.
We may change some of the format for the competition to a more controlled driving format. ;)
So if anyone wants to come along and be challenged then register online at Scenic Rims website or on the day.
We will post further times and format when it has been organized.
Regards
Tough Tracks 4x4 Club :)

Some of the volunteers from Tough Tracks 4x4 Club who haved offered their time to run this round of Suspension Stuff Challenge are heading out to mark out the tracks for the classes this weekend.
We are hoping to get some of the guys that compete at Tough Tracks Challenge to come out and have some fun on the 15th as well as all the usual crowd that attends this event.
We look forward to giving them all a different style to the event.

Well Rob.M and Rob.A went out on the weekend and have set out their tracks for Standard and Modified Class for Suspension Stuff Challenge :) . They reckon it's going to be challenging and will make the driver and navi's think about what they have to do.
We will possibly go back this weekend and lay out the tracks for Street Extreme Modified and Extreme Modified.
Hoping to get a few buggies/truggies there to give it a go. :)

Myself and Rob.M went out on Sunday to set tracks for the street extreme and extreme modified. ;)
They are all based around Cals Climb area and the lower section of Crampy's climb.
We have made them all drivable but also technical that will get the navi's thinking about where they are going to put their driver.
So if you want to have some fun competing this weekend or you just want to come and watch others then get along to this weekends Suspension Stuff Challenge starting at 8:30am.
Good luck and we hope to see you there.

Kareen and I would like to take the opportunity to thank publicly Ben and Rob for all their effort and support in the setting up of this week’s Suspension Stuff challenge.

We have received a number of enquiries so it looks like it’s going to be another fun filled family day out for everyone.

Thanks again guys and also to the others who have offered their support in the running of the challenge on Saturday.

With seven of the eventual eighteen cars in for the night Friday we were hoping the weather man had got it wrong again as we had the most magnificent night sky so were looking forward to another fun filled Suspension stuff challenge on Saturday. Unfortunately the predicted storms came a little late and by 5am a couple of guys were awaken by what seemed to be a river passing under their swags because for almost two hours the heavens opened and dumped enough rain to cause the creek to actually flow.

By 7am we could see the sun trying to poke through and by 9am the guys were ready to start playing in the mud. Rob and Ben had to modify a few of the tracks they had prepared to suit the damp conditions but everyone seemed to be working their way through things.

We hope the new guys enjoyed their first day of competition driving and hopefully next time you will be able to see what happens during the end of day presentations that usually takes place.
Just at the completion of their final track we could see another very serious looking weather front heading our way and as the park had experienced such a heavy downpour earlier we all decided to make our way out before things became too difficult.

We would like to thank all the competitors who eventually turned up for making this another successful Suspension Stuff Challenge.

Kareen will be listing the final scores on our website and the winners of each class will be notified shortly so we can pass on their prize.

Thank you again Ben and Rob for helping us out.

I would just like to say that Rob and I both had a ball setting the tracks out and running the Suspension Stuff Challenge for you.
It's alot tougher than we thought(especially since Rob and I were the only officials).
I hope all the competitors had fun with this different style of driving where both Navi and Driver had to think about where they were driving, which line to take and thinking outside the square to make it through the next gate.
I was running the Street modified Class and would just like to say well done to all the competitors in that class for having a go at every track, unfortunately we had to call of the last track due to the storm that rolled through at 3:30pm.
With only minimal breakages, (a few bent steering arms and a broken cv) and no roll overs it was a very succesful day.
Thanks everyone who attended and we may even try and run some more for you in the future.

correction, the river was running through, not under my swag.

Was still a great weekend. Driving a 2wd hilux out in the rain was interesting but achieved.

First time navigating this style of event, was good fun and a bigger challenge than I thought. We'll be back.

seat belt scott looks like he'll make it back to mackay with a few borrowed suspension arms. The jeep got towed home (suitable end to the day, apparently it's a jeep thing and I don't get it)
turner wished the zook had had a chance to finish the last track to see if he'd been able to scrape enough points to catch up.

And thanks to CMS racing Trevor. Was good to be your navi as well. Gave me more chances to get it right.
