Standard cvs will handle it depending on driver style. If you go to the chromoly items you wil have to change axles and that is all. All other parts stay standard

I bought my GQ with an air locker in the front about 8 years ago.
Fitted up brand new 35" MTR's and in that whole time i've only broken one CV. Even then when i broke it i was being an idiot trying to reverse up onto a stump.

Then on the other hand one of my mates had pretty much the same setup and has even managed to break GU CV's!

Personally if you ask me they'll handle it just fine, it all depends how loose the nut behind the wheel is.

i agree with 'jdgq' its all about how you drive the thing. i dont run lockers on beadlocked 35s and only break 'aftermarket standard' cv's when going real hard. nothing like driving like you stole it! :finger:

35's and a front locker didnt cause any broken CV's for me. Smashed two on 33's.
Dont drive like a dick and it should be good.

The biggest thing that breaks CV's is when you shock load them by engaging your locker on the run, especially when you have your wheels turned. Engaging in a straight line won't usually cause a problem but it will snap a CV pretty fast if you engage it on the run with your wheels turned. So like the other guys said. Be smart about how you drive and try to engage your lockers before you need them and you should be fine. A lot of people make the mistake of only using the driving aids when they run out of other options. Thats a stupid way of doing things and will eventually get you into trouble. Use your driving aids and you'll save your car and your driveline.

In my experience you would break CV's quicker in an unlocked truck due to what toughnut has mentioned. With a locked front end, you shouldn't have the same issues. In saying that nothing is unbreakable!!

I ran a locker with 37s for years without breaking a CV. It all depends how you drive. Now that I have Cal CVs I don't bother turning the locker off to change direction and can load one wheel up more than I ever would with standard CVs. Drive like a tool and you can break them easy, drive smart and they will last.
