I think they are too long to use in the front.
The IFS rears I have in my Lux are about 4-5inches longer than my stock rears.
I suppose it could be done, but you would more than likely need to relocate the shackle hanger way back, and youd also need to think about how to mount the spring hanger/front crossmember. And use some really long shackles.

Ok then what would be best set up for the ruf i do have a set of standed rears of 84 lux but dunt realy know much about mix and matching leafs to make up a set

Im just using my stock rears, as they are. Only removing the bottom load leaf.
If you want to do some reading on someone with an LN65 Lux, that has made therir own leaf packs, go into the members section of this forum, and search for Yamaha_308s build up.
The setup Ill be using is, 2inch dropped crossmember, stock rears(minus load leaf), Buds 125mm banana shackles, 12inch Bilsteins, hoops and flipped U-bolts. And histeer.

Yeah i came across that yesterday had so much info and details was good So hav you don the ruf on yours now did you say and your just have the stock pack with out the load leaf ?if so how dos that go

Nah havent done it yet. Hopefully soon(ish).

I cut down the load leaf in my IFS rears instead of removing it. It seems to work ok.

solid axle rears are 48" and ifs are 51" so 3" difference.
best pack is an old worn out 48" rear pack consisting of 5 leaves minus the 2 overloads with the bottom 3 leafs cut down so they are staggered 3-4" shorter than the leaf above them. i have this setup and it maxes out my 12" bilsteins.

I only have the IFS rears done at the moment, its noticeably softer in the rear than stock.
Id say once hi-steer is done, along with RUF, it would be heaps better as you need to run power steering with hi-steer.
If your rear springs are too soft, youll need to run a track bar, to help stop axle wrap.
Specs Hilux doesnt see very much on road these days, only to/from the tracks.

there is a build on here but i forget the name someone would remember, brendan's yellow tubbed lux on 39's he put IFS rears up front but had to move the drop hanger forward 2" to fit the leafs in without moving the shackle mount.. stock rears are easier... i ran in mine RUF and long long leafs (1500 from memory) in the rear with a track bar and inverted shocks on the road for a little while and was pretty soft but still went to the beach and pulled a trailer no worries for daily needs but i think they are alot softer than ifs rears depending how many leafs u run in them. my mates lux has ifs rears and seems fine no different but thats a too and from bush truck so not a huge amount of road time...

Dudelux you know how you said you wer going to remove the tow load leafs form the rear packs for yours what if you cut them down in stages and shorten them whould that be ok

In the rear packs(IFS rears from an 03 Lux), most people just take out the bottom load leaf, I cut mine down, its now about 300mm long.
Reason is so the springs wouldnt invert themselves too easily, and I kept the height of the springs.
Ill more than likely remove the bottom load leaf from my rears when I put them in the front, as Im fitting a 2inch dropped crossmember, and dont want the front pointing at the sky.
Cutting the springs in stages, Im not sure, I think that Yamaha_308 did something similar, have another read through there to see what he did, because to be honest, Im not sure.

So it would sit to high in the fornt if you dont remove the load leafs completly i was gonna take then out but the bolt / pin in the center was to seased and rusted so i cut the load leafs down or should i realy take them out
