problem with a 2.8l hilux

hey guys just wondering if anyone has had or seen this problem with there motor before.
occasianally on idle of late my motor seems to shudder like it is starving for fuel it is not consistant just starts and then if i hold it over idle its fine then after a minute or so of drivin it is completely fine and wont do it again for weeks
any help on this would be great thanks guys

Changed your diesel filter lately?May be dirty or have a slight amount of air in the system
Try turning your fuel screw 1/2 turn up on the injector pump

Might also be worth having a look at the injector pump for leaks, mine was doing something similar for a while and then one day the whole thing went and cost $1300 as i had to get a new injector pump.

yeah got a new filter strait away and the diesel pump definately aint leekin i was thinkin about winding the pump up but 1/2 a turn is alot on a diesel pump isnt it i thought i should only turn it up 1/8 at a time

my 2.4 done the same thing but only worse! it would cough and splatter then eventully shut down. i found that the check-valve in my fueltank breather was stuck open and sucking in dirt/water in turn my fuel filter was completly plugged. after draining tank, flushing lines, extending tank breather and changing multiple filters it finally fixed it! has never missed a beat since:)

the hand pump on the filter can go letting small amounts of air into your fuel lines causing these symptoms.

thanks guys just been told about the pump the other day so next time i change the filter i will replace the pump too
