Solid axle widening without spacer

Post by 91Mav »

G'day fellas,

Just wondering if anyone's widened their solid axle with IFS hubs WITHOUT spacers? I came across this link http://www.yotatech.com/f31/widening-79 ... ers-59071/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and it got me thinking.

I just picked up some IFS hubs and v6 calipers and am looking at my options.

Cheers

Isnt -44 the biggest offset you can buy off the shelf?? Any bigger needs to be cut and flipped??

Certainly when I looked a few years ago they where the biggest. 15x10 black kings with the -44 cost me $110 each back in about 07.
I'm not quitting drinking, I'm retiring at the top of my game - sporting comeback likely.

its about 3" long, got longfeild to make some longer 30spl chromo axles up for it. Its cheaper than spacers or rims and way way better.

I have IFS hubs with rotor spacers but I like this way best as it keeps the scrub radius small.

Is that one of Dave Gores spacers? How did you cut the knuckle out? Whats the fit of the spacer into the axle tube like, self aligning?

i put ifs hubs on my 85, gives u 1.5inch approx each side, just machined a spacer to adapt the rotor to the correct position, works great.
