Inner guards and legalities

Post by BlueSuzy »

Does anyone know the legalities of inner guards on a car/4wd/etc?
( i know, speak to an engineer, But they are uber busy atm)

My new zook i have completly cut out the front guards to suit new tyres/suspension/fllares and it will be for legal onroad use. There is no chance the originals will refit.

Im guessing i have to run some type of guard to keep the engine bay seperate to the wheel well, Would a shaped sheet from chassis to bonnet be sufficient or would it have to go over the top also?

Pic of what im working with. No recent ones sorry.
Coil top is gone, I now have shock hoops welded in just clearing under the bonnet..About 80mm above top guard line as the bonnet has about 100mm of open space

Maybe some sheet welded in, like a tubbed guard style would be the easiest option. With cut outs for your hoops.

Yeah straight sheet or tubbed style option is in my mind..

Its alot easier to tub the rear because its all round. The front gets tricky with the firewall and headlights and it could look messy with a 90'ish degree edge inside the engine bay.
