anchor tether points

Post by Bundy79 »

Morning all,

Just wondering if anyone knows where the tether anchor points are for a child seat on a 2010 navarra st? Are they inside the rear panel moulding? Nissan want to charge me 300 for the first and then 800 for 2 to fit them and i was thinking of getting the family mechanic to fit them instead.

Cheers

It probably wont have any as ADR34 is not apliccable to commercial vehicles.

Rather than dodgying something up, have a look around for a CRAB:

Just have a good look. The captive nut mounting points are there. I don't know where they are but I do know they have them. Check under the carpet under the seat. The holes may be covered with a sticker or a bung but they will be there. They won't be behind the moulding.

I would anly use them if they have been tested. As Toaddog says, have a look at the manual. I know some manufacturers actually do put them in, test them & advse that you can use them even though they are not required to in the ADR's.

RE: the CRAB, get onto your local registering authority or Kids Safe, they will have a list of people who do it.

Here in Canberra it is Autoco in Phillip.

My old GQ had them in the floor but this was PITA when we went camping as it was hard to load so I fitted a CRAB. I happend to fall across one at a wreckers with all the correct mounting points & clips & fitted it myself. I managed to finde some instructions soemwhere but I am buggered if I can find them now.
