electric shut down solenoid on side of carby.
these are easy to check and change and no need to remove carb off engine

Could also be cr*p build up around combustion chamber/head. It stays hot for a bit after engine is shutdown and becasue of that it can act like a spark plug..... Could be a combo of this and the solenoid as well.

Have you had the head off recently? From what ive read the cr*p is a build up of the stuff in less than perfect fuel...So running an octante booster and premium and giving it a flog should help...

I found this when i pulled the head off the paj at 300,000

You should hear it click when the key goes into the ignition position. If it doesnt, it might not be getting the proper signal or its physically damaged. If it clicks then its moving, but that doesnt mean its sealing, so you need to remove it and inspect its operation properly.
