Best Rust Proofing?

Gday ive got an 84 hilux, which has rust that im going to weld plates in, once ive fixed the worst of it whats the best protection againts further rust?

get a tin of rust proof from super cheap, mix it 50/50 with auto transmission fluid then spray it with high pressure into every hole in the body you can find.

If your talking about the 3m product rust proofing in a pressure pack - DONT BOTHER. I used the whole 3m series rust desolver, rust converter and rust proofing. I was planning to spray over it. The stuff never actually dries or goes off. Had to girnie it all back to bar metal in those spots. Find something better. Acid etch primer.

yeah i was thinking of going with the tectyl, will it be good to use in the chassis and in the cab?

yeah use tectyl and the oil is to stop it drying out and becoming useless.

my favourite is good old fish oil smell dosnt last long and it seems to work well the roof is still in excellent condition on my 82 fj62
1982 fj 60 with all late model gxl stuff 3 inches of lift ,snorkel ,lokker,bullbar,winch,ford 5 liter and a meggasquirt ECU
