I've done a BF I6 motor in a GU. I would recomend the later BA, BF or FG engine over the AU.

cool how hard was it ive done engine changes befor i put a 250 x-flow into a 60 series cruiser befor, that wasnt overaly hard and a 13b into a 4 cyl capella but never realy messed with the efi stuff befor.

did you just buy a engine, ECU and loom. what does flashing the ecu do, does that mean the ecu will just run the engine and you can use the gq dash instruments and ignition barrel.

reckon you could post me up a shopping list of the parts i will need.

i read you post very good work.

thanks.

Yaz,

I've now got an ad on ebay offereing ECU flashing (pats - passive anti theft sys) disabling service for $200. I will also, soon be offering "Marked up" wiring diagrams showing what wires need connecting to where for a small fee as well.

You need
1. engine
2. ECU (engine computer)
3. engine bay Harness from the wreckers (connects to middle connector on ecu and gets cut up and and wires lengthened)
4. Dellow conversion kit
5. Tacho interface box
6. Accelerator pedal (fords are drive by wire)
7. clutch etc

My BF has been fitted with petrol injectors, manifold etc so it's dual fuel. Only recently connected LPG up. Dash is stock GU patrol.

ok sorry i get it couse your using the gu gear box sorry.

if im not going to turbo it later could i just use a petrol engine with the gas setup already on my gq and get it tuned to run both then use dual fuel or do ya have to convert the egas engine to run on both.

thanks for the info

can you flash the au ECU or do you just use a J3 chip.

AU's need a J3 chip to flash new software. A BF e-gas engine when fitted with petrol injectors, fuel rail and new wiring harnes is exactly the same as the petrol version, (when the ECU is re-flashed). The e-gas engine also has a mixer ring for LPG in the throttle body which can be removed with some mods. ie my motor is just like a petrol BF engine, but with a green rocker cover, and harder valve seats. All BF's have 10.3:1 comp ratio, including the egas. BA e-gas had 10.7:1 comp ratio.

Do you need to use a ZD30 pedal set or does the falcon accelerator pedal adapt in?

Accelerator pedal has to be from Ford. BA & BF accel pedal assy are the same part no. FG pedal has changed so if you want an FG conversion you need an FG accel pedal.
