60 Series wiper arm

Post by RockyF75 »

My 60's wipers stopped working the other day, cause the bar, going from the motor to the blade arms came off. It's in a PITA of a spot to get at but I managed to push it back on but it just falls off again as soon as I use them. Does the plastic housing in them wear out enough to not hold it together?? There's nothing there visably broken, except a rubber boot type thing that seems to be just there to hold in grease?? Or does the rubber boot help hold it together?

Yeah, I think they just rely on the tight fit to hold the arm in. My mates one did the same thing years ago and all he did was turn up some new plastic bushings at work. I don't think he could buy them from anywhere at the time. Maybe something off a different/newer model will work and be available.
