G"Day MMM, this sounds fantastic, it will be good to see the XI happen again.

We will see how things pan out over the start of next year but at this stage you can pencil me in for the full 8 day event as an official, ( hope I can stand the stress of it all ) heehee.

It has been so long since I have been to "Cruiser" I may need a new GPS to find the place.

Best of luck with chasing up sponsors and competitors, and what a prize for one of them to have a leg up into the RFC, well done.

Catch ya

Sounds awsome Dave. for those of us that don't know, how do these events run? Is it just a 8 day winch comp, or do we move around the country side ( obc style ) ? Are the stages short (10min) or long( several hours). Never watched the rfc but love the sound of it

Very good question.

There is no where that you can do an RFC, there is only one RFC and that is in Malaysia. You cannot copy their transport anywhere, but our SS are as good or if not better here in Australia. And another thing events here in Australia do not have the razamataz of the events like the RFC Malaysia.

But the idea is to give away an entry to the RFC, which includes entry, container and airfares. This will be done as a lucky draw for the competitors, this is non transferable.

The XI RFC will be the same format as my very first XI, same camp for everyone and move around the property for each SS. The XI was the first long event with a central camp, now all the others have followed my idea.

The event format will be winching, speed & GPS. SS will vary in length and time. the GPS SS will be the longer of the lot, expect 1 or 2 hour DNF's but having to do 3 on a set day, night GPS is the same 1 or 2 hours.

The SS conducted on the first & last Saturday & Sunday will be very spectator friendly and most will be multi winches.

The SS during the week might be a little more spread out, so will require the spectator to move around a bit.

The fee's for the supporters & spectators are normal park fee's, so it works out a lot cheaper then per head rate. You do your own catering, which is the best way if you are on a budget. Catering will also be available during the week if required.

And like the XI of years past, all competitors will walk away with something, not just the winners.

All for now.

Cheers

The XI RFC is open to all vehicles that can compete in the XWC.

Winch Trucks, Buggies (tyres size the same as Winch Trucks), Side by sides etc Polaris, Artic Cat & Canams.

Rules will be up before the end of the year. But for now just get an idea from the 2010 XWC rules as on my web site.

As for winches, Electric & Off the Shelf PTO** or hydraulic** are allowed.

** Must have prior approval first. This will be for all entrants including overseas vehicles.

Great to see that you are there for this one.

After talking to competitors at King of Rim over the weekend, Round 3 of the XWC will be held 22nd - 23rd of September. This is the first weekend of XI RFC. So if you want to be part of both the fee is $1650. THe XWC starts on Saturday with 5 SS (day time) possible 3SS on Saturday night & if we run Saturday night 2 SS on Sunday or if no Saturday night SS there will be 5 on Sunday.

Some of those that have put their hand up know what the XI is all about and want to do it again or make sure that they are there for their first one.

I know we could handle 35/40.

But I would like to see 15/30 Teams

The format will not change, I have already a plan that would easy cater for 40 vehicles, and not super long days or nights for that mater. Numbers will not change the layout of the SS.

All Teams will have to work in with the Organiser (Me) during the event to make it run smoothly.

But to be honest it would be great to see 20 Teams there.

Yes the hands have come up very quickly with one even paying a deposit.

Officials are also getting in on the act very quickly.

Note to Team Hartec, money cleared and as you have asked to be #5, that you are.

Numbers 1, 2 & 3 are being held until after Round 2 of XWC. These will be for the Teams that are holding that position after Round 2 if they chose to enter the XI RFC Australia.

The rest of the numbers are up for grabs. Choice wil be yours. Double numbers only.
