Looks pretty light duty and yep they can't even tell it's put together wrong.
Re: Tube notcher
There not too bad, I bought one, it's done my tray and all of sprungupcruisers barwork ( check the build) and its still going good. It has abit of wear in the bushes but is expected. It's probably done a few hundred notches.

Re: Tube notcher
Sweet exactly what I'm after, any pics of how you got it set up or in use, I'm only after a cheap temporary notcher so don't expect it to last foreverSIMMO84 wrote:There not too bad, I bought one, it's done my tray and all of sprungupcruisers barwork ( check the build) and its still going good. Re: Tube notcher
No pics, just had a cordless drill on it. You only cut just the end bit off. We just had a constant spray of lanolin on it to lube the bushes and cool the hole saw.

Looks like a copy of the HAFCO one. I bought one years ago from Hare & Forbes. http://www.machineryhouse.com.au/P090" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Mine's been brilliant. Perhaps pay a little extra for the convenience of a local warranty?

Re: Tube notcher
I got one of those a couple of months ago. Delivered from The US was $75 so couldn't go wrong really. I used it recently to make a set of rock sliders. At a square cut it was good but with the dicky angle meter at 45 degrees it needed a cleanup with the angle grinder after but no dramas. I don't have a pic of it's work but here's a pic I took of the setup:

I recommend the seller too, from memory I had it at my door within 10 days. The one you listed works to 60 degrees, this one is only 45.

Has anyone had the need for the extra 15 degrees? or would 45 be ok, I know the jd2 notcher only does 50 degrees

Re: Tube notcher
I tend to always need to go further than 50* on my JD2 TN100 notcher. It is easy to take out the swing bolt & go further though which I do frequently.

Re: Tube notcher
Ended up getting this one, it has a 3 year warranty an if it last that long i'll be more than happy. It goes to 60 degrees and was only an extra $15 on the 45 degree one.
