FJ40 original seat brackets

Post by Roaring40s »

Hi everyone,
I am in the process of restoring my 1978 FJ40, and I am up to mounting the front bucket seats, however the previous owner made up some hack job "custom seat brackets", and because of this I am not entirely sure as to what all of the original brackets actually look like. I have a few of them (such as the 'A frame' bracket that goes under the passenger seat, and a few of the brackets that go over the fuel tank on the drivers side), but I am unsure of what the rest of them look like.

Has anyone got any pictures of the original seat brackets for the front bucket seats on a 1978 or earlier FJ40?
(I have searched other forums, but I couldn't find any clear pictures, mostly just people talking about what brackets they need...)

Cheers,
Ian

my housemates got a 78 or there-a-bouts FJ. I'll try and get some pics in the next couple of days. But they aren't really 'bucket' seats :? It's a 3/4 bench I think, and single drivers.

Thanks for that. I'm not sure that the brackets are the same. I have a picture on specter off road, but it's an exploded diagram, and the picture is tiny.

The part that I specifically need a photo of I have found on this page: http://www.sor.com/sor/cat118.tam?xax=3 ... t118%2Etam" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
It is Part 54 under 9/72-1978 40 Series — Front Bucket Seats

As you can see the diagram is quite small and a photo would really help me to see what it looks like, so that I can fabricate it.
