Looking to do a ZD30 intercooler upgrade.

Post by duallux »

Hi guys,
looks like the factory ZD30 intercooler may be leaking again, and this time its not under Nissan warranty. The car is a 2005 GU IV with 160K on it. It sometimes only boosts about 4psi on the flat on the hiway bringing the EGTs up. Just wondering what some of you guys have replaced your factory intercooler with and whether it made any difference to the car. Currently the only engine mod done to mine is a 2.5" mandrel exhaust with post turbo pyro in the dump pipe. Always use factory filters and run 5W-40 oil. Any thoughts appreciated.
Cheers
Matt

i'm pretty sure A.R.E. do an upgraded cooler that mounts in the factory position but is anything but standard in regards to heat transfer and flow.

Cross country intercoolers are the way to go.

I have had mine on for over 2 years now and still love it.
They preform well, reducing the air temps as well as flowing better.
Highly recomended.
The kit comes with everything you need to fit it.
Cross Country have also listned to us guys that bought the early ones and have modified them as per our sugestions. This has led to an improved product that should out preform all its competitors.
