Neoprene winch damper/dildo, instead of old shockie

Post by MEGATROL »

Hey guys, im looking for some one that supplys that neoprene rubber bar that some blokes use for a damper on ther warn highmounts to slow it down as the hook gets close to the winch. Most of us blokes up in CQ use an old moddified shockie, but on a recent trip to a comp down south i noticed a lot of the boys down there run this hard rubbery dildo looking thing instead of a shockie.
Ive tryed smithi engineering and flamin fab but no good. Just trying to find out wat material it is, wat ther called, who sells them and how much????

Any light shed on this would be great

Not what he is talking about. Its a long cylindrical piece of rubber that sticks up above the line of the bonnet and you connect your winch hook to it and winch in until it bends and you stop. That way your navi can get in the truck while you finish winching in and save a lot of time.

A few people use a long stiff spring sleeved in plastic that has a loop on the top of it to hook up the cable.

I knew you wouldn't be far away, as soon as u saw the word dildo your eyes would of lit up, but unfortunately its just another dump winch thread

Oh and these dildos do pull them up quiet well, they use to be on eBay years ago

Yes its a big cylider of nylon rubber not that little winch saver thing, Well ya see sheildsy we had a small incident at lowmead, and instead of winching the rear winch in i sucked the front winch in wich was allready tight so it completly bent my shocky in half so ill sell it to ya for a carton if ya still keen.

I think bob cameron runs one on the electric rangie, so if any one knows were he got his from???

There's another positive to that suggestion!! He wouldn't even have to go buy one!! Just give the couple he owns a quick wash and he can run twins!! :D

And pikels, even one of those new ones you are looking at won't stop it if you are winching in the wong bloody winch! :finger: so maybe the second hand shockies are the go? Just pack a spare one every comp!
