Hi all just wondering what people may think is the best way to go i have a 2000 1HZ 79 series crusier i would like to keep veihcle practical to a point so i was wondering what to do either suspension 2'' 3'' 4'' lift, Tyres 33" work 35" Play do i need reduction gears to run 35,s just a suspension lift suspension and body just cant make up my mind any advise would be good i know all this depends on what i do so i do like tripen about fishing, camping but i do like taken a weekend to just get dirty love the mud. cheers.

First up, mud will break everything that it gets into.
For mild stuff, Id go with a 2 or 3 inch lift, and a set of 33s. You wont need much more than that.
You wont need reduction gears to run bigger tyres, you may need to change your gearing to suit though.

33s might scrub on the guards a bit, but a quick trim with the grinder will fix that. Or, you could fit a 1 or 2inch body lift.

That is pretty much all youll need to get out and about with minimal dramas, if you find you want to do harder tracks, then fit a locker or 2(air lockers are the best option, but $$$$, auto lockers are good value though, but you dont have the option of switching them on and off like you do with air lockers.

33's will fit on a 79 with zero mods. The standard tyre is 32 inches tall, in fact i ran 35's on a 75 with zero body mods.

35's on a 75/79 you can do with no gearing changes but it's going to be pretty gutless on the road, and your clutch won't be super happy about any real clutch slipping work.

You need to be pretty honest with yourself about what you want your truck to do and what you want to use it for. Unless you're going to be doing hard core off road tracks, a set of 33's and lockers will get you everywhere and still give you a good handling truck with minimal lost of fuel usage.

agree with above, BUT lockers arent gonna get you out if your bogged, a winch will, for the same money, and can be transfered to future purchased vehicles, otherwise a locker generally cant.
