GQ transfer case emergency

Post by Wozza244 »

I have a GQ owner manual on CD, never used it on computer and my computers CD Drive is now farked, im in the process of rebuilding my transfer case on the 4.2. Does this manual have the rebuild instructions or should i look elsewhere?

Because im flying blind and have no idea of how it all comes apart inside, so far i have removed and replaced a bearing which should have been left off till later on, tried to pull a bearing the wrong way (it was just a minute ago, and i was tired trying to get more done before tomorrow) it snapped the lock ring thing that has all the torx head screws in it inside the transfer.

So im in a spot of trouble, i have to be on the road tomorrow, (thursday) and its looking like im gonna be a pineapple farmer this week again.....

Mate. Its probably not going to help too much right now but I have a manual on CD as well here at home. I also have my gearbox and transfer out on the floor of my shed if you need it. I don't care what time you drop by to pick it up if you need it. I'm in Hawks Nest now though.

Cheers toughnut, im about 2hrs from you at Scone. Ive had a look at this ring and im thinking it wont really be a problem if i just put it back in there in 2 pieces. Its still going to retain the whole thing where it needs to be. But i will get back to you if i decide to come for a drive down. Im going to my local parts guy now, he might be able to freight me one up by thisarvo.

Purplebus, yeah i can do that no problem but i was wondering if the breakdown/instructions are on it, cause if they arent its not worth going to the effort searching through it.

Cheers guys anyone that reads this thats in the Hunter Valley with a transfer, i will take it off your hands today!!
