loose wheel bearing

Post by jemmos »

Hey all. Well b for i went away for chrissy hols, putting on the 35s on my gu ute i noticed passenger side wheel bearings very loose, so nipped them up. Got home after doing max 500kms on the 35s, putting the 33s i run for everyday driving back on, and they were both loose, so did them up again with a bit more tension. its been a week, 600 kms driving on road and the passengerside is loose as a goose again :? My question is, are the wheel bearings or something fizzed or is it some thing im doing??? help me please!!

Don't think it's the king pin bearings, when I tighten the wheel bearing there is no play when moving the wheel back and forth. :?

Just to point out the obvious but bigger than standard tyres (33's plus) will root wheel bearings much quicker. As well as larger offset rims if your running those,

What are you tightening them with? And are you running the factory locking ring with the screws or back to the old 2 nuts and lock tab??

Yeah, figured as much about running big tyres, not worried bout that. Tightening with the ring and 2 screws, using the proper tool and torque wrench. So I'm stuffed if I no, must be flogged bearings?
