hilux two link rear?

Post by dbeverett »

A mate of mine just bought a dual cab coily lux and its got a setup I've never seen before, sort of like a triangulated 4link with the bars welded together so its a two link/ladder bar/ radius setup?
Just wondering if anyones seen something similar before, it seems pretty beefy and works half decent offeiad but just curious of the pros and cons of it

i think u mean an A frame set up, the top joins at the diff in 1 place and at the chassie in 2 places, like an 'A' they can work very well but can also if not setup right induce alot of rear steer

Nah I know what a wishbone threelink is.
This Is like a ladder bar either side, picture a single mounting point at the chassis going to two on the diff, then the same on the opposite side and a panhard to keep it all straight

Yeah similar to the y-arms those guys run, just never seen them on the rear before.
I'm on my phone at the moment so I can't upload pics, I'll try and get some up tomorrow when I get on a pc.

seems to go alright, certainly not earth shattering but it doesnt struggle too much. he hasnt had it long enough to see if it'll give him any issues on road, off camber or on hill climbs

Tires are like boobs, they always look big until you have played with them for a while, then you just want a bigger set
