Will these parts fit?? Will they work?? Urgent please

Post by DUDELUX »

We are planning on converting the auto hub setup to manual hubs, on my brothers 95 4runner(3ltV6, 5sp).
We have a fair idea on what we need to do.

My brother is hunting for parts(manual hubs, etc) at the moment, and we have been offered the CVs, manual hubs, brakes, steering, etc from a 2004 extra cab Hilux, for a good price.

Will the manual hubs and CVs from an 04 extra cab Lux work and fit on a 95 4runner??

My brother wants to pick up the parts tomorrow, so I need to know if these parts will work or not, by this arvo, if possible.

Thanks guys.

Yeah I saw that, I suppose manual hubs are manual hubs.

The hubs are probably all the same size, so I guess(and its only a guess) that the hubs should work. Unsure if the CVs would be the same though.

Cheers Nate.

Should have a chat to that 4runner guy I was talking to you about, I got my manual hubs off him for my cruiser and he seemed to know what he was talking about, I have seen a Gen 2 stripped at his workshop once also. I know there is 27 spline and 30 spline thats the main difference. Biggest difference would be cv length.

IFS hubs have a different spline count to solid axle hubs. IFS free wheeling hubs should bolt right up. I've got a pair in the shed if you're in Sydney and need some. 0432589767

Thanks for that 91Mav. Ill let you know, we currently have some lined up, from an 04 Lux, hence this thread.

Yeah Nate, Matt knows his 4runners alright. Last time I was there, he had his V8 4runner on 37s in the workshop, and at least 4 half stripped runners outside.

General consensus is that the IFS CVs, and manual hubs are the same, so they will work.

Thanks for the replies guys.

Yeah Justin, we ended up getting the front diff, brakes, hubs, CVs, etc from a guy at Warners Bay, for a good price, the front diff is busted though.

Matt at Phats4runners mainly deals with gen1 4runners, not too much gen2 stuff at his shop.

He was overseas for a few months recently, but as far as I know, he is back, but going OS again soon. Mel went to school with him and one of his close friends is one of her ex.
He has listed some stuff on Ebay, check his Ebay store.
Search sellers for Phats4runners.
