IFS Hilux or Mazda springs?
Looking back ay older threads it seems Mazda springs were the hot ticket for the rear end of Hiluxs. Now it seems IFS Hilux springs are pretty popular for this application.
What interests me is the centre pin location. Does anyone know how they compare? With measurements? And are they similar lengths?

Dunno . bit I am kinda interested myslef ... so BTTT

madza are easy
ifs are harder
ifs springs are longer so therefore
it moves your diff back 3 inchs or so
therefore shocks need moving
you might need to run liftblocks if you are running lift in the front
therefore longer u bolts therefore you might want to do a u bolt flip
more work
and you need to run really longer shackels which are illegal in Qld

HOOLAY Wish i could buy boggers for my DH bike
from a person who ran mazda springs - they work reasonably well - i would only use them in the ass end of a 4 runner or a dual cab due to the weight - they are reasonably soft but suffer by only being the length of a stock hilux rear - the axle remains in the stock location

IFS rears work better again - the springs i used only moved the rear axle back 1 1/2" - shocks mounts is no biggy as you will be remounting them anyway
both setups need a longer shackle - mazda i had 2 1/4" extended - my IFS springs needed a 5" extended shackle
both setups will need lift blocks
both setups to work well are about the same amount of work - i would go IFS in a hilux - mazda in a 4 runner

After a lot of reading.... seems I was referring to 2wd mazda springs(B2200 or B2600). They are 51" - 52" long but have centre pin almost in centre, unlike IFS Hilux which are offset toward the front of the spring a coupla inches.
According to the sites I looked at:

they claim because of the longer distance from the front of the spring to the centre pin in the Mazda spring (5.5" longer than orig Toy spring), they flex better.
Only thing is unless remount front hanger they will move axle 5.5" back... thats a lot.
Could drill spring perch to reduce that to 4".
I have IFS springs sitting on floor atmo. Think I will get some 2wd Mazda springs and mix and match.
