Anyone on here run their TD42 on biodiesel?
Not just waste vegetable oil poured into your tank, proper filtered and coveted biodiesel.

Had any problems?
Used a different fuel filter?
Pump issues?

Bio diesel destroys seals and other components on older engines. You can however have all the seals and o-rings swapped for compatible items, but hardly worth it. Easier to just not look at the price, fill it up and pay on card and throw the receipt in the bin. Lol. Are u looking at money saving ideas or just curious or environmental interests?

To save a bit of money. My old man used to make it and give it to me for nothing. He has his own little self built processing plant in our machinery shed.

We used to run everything diesel we had on it: Truck, bobcat, Nissan 720, Mercedes 300D, Landrover Discovery, RA Rodeo, Mercedes Sprinters and my Patrol.

Only problem we have had was with the Rodeo which did an injector pump just now, but can't say if the biodiesel had anything to do with that because it hasn't been run on it for so long.

He hasn't made any in a year or two but now thinking of getting back into it.

I looked at it, less energy per litre than diesel so you use a bit more of it to do the same work. it's not that much cheaper when you buy it commercially, so for the small $ per km travelled saving it was not worth the risk to me.
you might be best calling an injector pump rebuilder and asking them what sort of problems they have seen.

We noticed it had less go. He found a way to bring it back in line with diesel by adding curtain things, think one might have been methanal. Or if it was run at 50/50 with diesel the difference wasn't noticeable.

Might do like you said and get onto an injector pump rebuilder. See what an expert reckons.

Your injector pump housing is aluminium, it wont last long with methanol in it. very corrosive. thats why they carefully anodize aluminium fuel rails for use with methanol.

the big problem is how well its made. in particular is how much water is in it.
pics of what bio diesel can do to a rotary pump. inline pumps tend to more tolerable to bad fuel.
