??

Interco don't make the Ground Hawg, they were made by Denman.

I don't believe these are available anymore as Denman Tire Co., the manufacturers, filed for bankruptcy in 2010 and their assets were sold.

I could see no reason to run these. There were a few sets in the country years ago, but they are an ancient design and would be comfortably outperformed by any tyre in current production available in that size. They were effectively a scaled up 1950's military tread pattern. The lack of an offset outer lug, and a fairly tight centre makes them the worst of both worlds IMHO.

Why were you interested in them?

Steve.

Yeh there are only a few of these tyres kicking about I had a set of 44's but they were not that great lack of side ways traction. They just slipped sideways on rocks very similar to boggers

I have seen another set of 44's still floating about

I stand corrected thanks steve

Was interested because if the size and width and they are on 15x14 rims.
He wants $1500. I was hoping for iroks or LTBs but haven't seen them for sale.

Otherwise I can buy the whole car for another $1000,bj70 twin locked, longfield cvs,3.4L diesel and with the Tyres.

Cheers for the response

According to this site, its an Interco tyre.
http://www.ityre.com/en/tyres/catalog/i ... del/21862/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Dont look that good to me, but Im no expert on tyres. Looks like you would slide sideways very easily, just like posted above(like Boggers).
But according to the ityre site, 40s only come in 17s, biggest for a 15in rim is 38x15.5.

Id be looking at getting Creepies, or sticky Treps like everyone has these days.

Nothing constructive to add other than as a BJ70 owner, I'd love it if you could get some pics of what a BJ70 on 40x17-15s looks like.

At those dollars, unless the car is a wreck you should be able to buy the whole lot and sell off anything you don't need to recoup the cost.

According to that site, not one single tyre is available.

They do not appear on Interco's web site ?

What would you do with it? Put in in the shed and drive it once a year like your blue one?

I seem to remember reading that Interco acquired some of Denman's molds when they went belly up.

Haha anyone remember Fergo's GQ ute with Groundhawgs? Thing was cooler than a polar bear's bawls!

For $2500 that truck is a steal. It used to be red right?

Fergo's ute is still around, it seems to get wheeled heaps. I think it runs 35s now, eats the tracks up still. I seem to run into it a bit and I dont get out that much.

My back yard is already a place where functioning 4WDs go to die. Don't encourage me. I'd be lying if I said I didn't think about it for a second though. :D
